Your responsibilities

Process Engineering and Quality Assurance Engineer positions offered by Turbo Systems US Inc., an ABB company (Bolingbrook, IL). Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify areas that could benefit from changes and improvements via data-based analysis. Ensure that equipment is properly calibrated and maintained, employees are properly trained, and standardized work is performed in accordance with health and safety requirements. Support the turbocharger operation in the US to implement quality policies and achieve quality levels while staying competitive in a specific environment. Direct continual review of the section’s operations and manage the development and introduction of alternative approaches of assuring quality products for turbocharger systems in industrial gas and diesel internal combustion engines at lowest cost. Ensure improvement processes align with Lean 6-Sigma (data-based analysis) procedures to reach ISO 9001 certification and meet all client requirements from APQP (Advance Product Quality Planning). Manage and implement quality system requirements, [i.e., customer PPAP, customer SQEP, ISO certification] for products for clients in power generation, marine propulsion, railways transportation, and oil and gas prospection and operation industries.

Your background

Requires a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering or a related field with 8 years of experience in the position offered or 8 years of experience using and applying process, quality and manufacturing engineering tools and techniques including application and use of statistical process control. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree 8 years of experience as stated above, employer will accept a master’s degree and 5 years of experience as stated; or 10 years of experience as stated above. Also requires 5 years of experience manufacturing workflow and process optimization. Requires 2 years of experience: performing ISO implementation and internal auditing; interpreting technical drawings with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances, (GD&T); and utilizing the following 8D, FMEA, and 5-Why tools. Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently.
